Christopher Haden-Guest, 5th Baron Haden-Guest (born February 5, 1948), is a British/American comedian, actor, writer, director, composer, and musician known as Christopher Guest. He is known for having written, directed and starred in several "mockumentary" films, although it should be noted that Guest himself resents and finds inappropriate the "mockumentary" descriptor, as he maintains that his intention is not to mock anyone, but to explore insular, perhaps obscure communities through his method of filmmaking, for which he has no substitute word.[1] (It should perhaps further be noted that, as an adjective rather than a verb, the word mock simply means "fake," and has no derisive connotation.)
