Judy Garland (born Frances Ethel Gumm; June 10, 1922 – June 22, 1969) was an Oscar-nominated American film actress and singer, best known for her role as Dorothy Gale from The Wizard of Oz. Garland's singing voice was rich and warm with a very recognizable vibrato, which she was able to maintain at an extremely low volume.
