Coming up on Television
 | Premonition In this dreadful supernatural thriller Sandra Bullock plays a wife and mother who is told that her husband (Julian McMahon) has died in a car crash. So she's astounded to wake up the next day and find him still alive. It appears that time has somehow come unstuck and she's experiencing the week of his demise in random order. Can she reshuffle the days in order to learn the facts and save his life? It's pointless trying to work out what's really going on here, as the film's full of gaps in logic, inane harbingers of doom and meaningless clues. And such explanations as do arrive are hilariously heavy-handed tributes to faith and family values. It's languidly paced and drearily shot, and Bullock's utterly pedestrian performance matches the sappy imagery and uninspired scares.(Starring:Linda Hanson*Sandra Bullock|Jim Hanson*Julian McMahon|Annie*Nia Long|Joanne*Kate Nelligan|Claire*Amber Valletta|Dr Norman Roth*Peter Stormare) Monday January 4 2010 21:00 - 22:50 |

 | Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous Sandra Bullock returns as clumsy FBI agent Gracie Hart in this formulaic sequel to the hit action comedy. Picking up where the original movie left off, the story involves Hart reluctantly accepting a PR role as "the face of the FBI" after her new-found fame - as the woman who saved the life of Miss United States - makes it impossible for her to operate undercover. Groomed to perfection, the Bureau's poster girl soon begins to relish her position, much to the distaste of her tough new bodyguard (Regina King). What follows is a handbags-at-dawn mix of bitchiness, cat fights and pratfalls as the duo clash repeatedly, only for girlie soul-searching, a trip to Vegas and a kidnapping case to resolve their animosity. It's all very predictable and largely hit and miss, with only a handful of sequences to match its predecessor's breezy vitality. Were it not for Bullock's natural comic timing, the movie would fall apart, but it's still sad to see such a personable star having to work so hard to keep a lazy cash-in afloat. (Starring:Gracie Hart*Sandra Bullock|Stan Fields*William Shatner|Cheryl *Heather Burns|Sam Fuller*Regina King|McDonald*Ernie Hudson|Collins*Treat Williams|Jeff Foreman*Enrique Murciano) Sunday January 10 2010 22:15 - 00:25 |
 | Murder by Numbers Alfred Hitchcock explored the theme of murder as an intellectual exercise in Rope as did Richard Fleischer in Compulsion, but this attempt at the same is just plain ropey. Here, Michael Pitt and Ryan Gosling play bored teenagers who kill a defenceless woman simply to get away with it. Of course, their mistake is to underestimate unconventional homicide detective Sandra Bullock, who smells a rat and confronts a few skeletons in her own cupboard to come after them. Bullock plays the maverick detective rather well, but there's little else to get excited about in this dull and predictable thriller.
